Sergei Kuznetsovgraduated from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Control Science) in 1985. In 2002 he was awarded the degree of Doctor of Science for his dissertation "Theory of machine learning in concept lattices."
In 1999-2005 he was a Humboldt fellow and invited professor at the Technical University of Dresden (Germany). From 2006 Sergei Kuznetsovis heading the School of Applied Mathematics and Information Science of the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE). Since 2012 he is leading the Laboratory of Intelligent Systems and Structural Analysis at HSE. Research interests of Sergei Kuznetsov lie within various aspects of data analysis, machine learning, data mining, and knowledge discovery. Sergei Kuznetsov has more than 50 refereed international publications. He organized several conferences on conceptual aspects of knowledge discovery both in Russia and abroad. The research team of Sergei Kuznetsov is developing methods of knowledge discovery which combine approaches based on formal concept analysis, structural analysis, multi-modal clustering, data development, and computational linguistics.
